HOW TO GROW ROSE PLANTS?
Growing Rose Plants on the front garden is a dream of many people. But starting a garden with rose plants seems to be a stressful thing for beginners. However with little knowledge about the rose plants and proper care and maintenance this will become successful.
There are different types of rose plants available in the nursery such as Tree rose, Miniature rose, Climber rose, Hybrid tea, Floribunda, Grandiflora, Shrub and landscape roses etc. You can decide which one to plant in your garden based on the climate and the regional guide. You can buy either the bare-root rose or the container-grown rose plants. Bare-root plants does not have leaves or flowers, it just has a stem from rose plant, whereas the container-grown roses comes in a pot with leaves, flowers, root, soil etc. Both will grow perfectly well if you plant them carefully following the right method at the right time.
Choose the perfect location for planting roses. The spot should get minimum six hours direct sunlight per day. If the area you live is too hot, you can provide some shelter to protect them from extra sun. If the area is too windy, try to plant them near fence or well, so that they will be protected from heavy wind. If the area is too cold, plant the rose plants near warm wall to provide some protection from cold. Soil: The soil should not be too sandy. It should have good drainage also.

Procedure for Planting Container-Grown Roses:
- After selecting the location, prepare the area by digging deep enough and adding fertiliser in the soil. Dig much deeper and wider (almost 2 times) than the container of rose plant so that the entire plant can go in easily.
- Now check the depth before planting the rose by keeping the pot inside the hole and see if the swelling at the rose plants base is inside the hole. If not, dig little bit deeper.
- Now remove the plant from the container by tapping the sides of container. The rose plant along with the soil attached to it easily comes out of the pot or container.
- Now plant the rose plant into the hole and add fertiliser
- Also add Mycorrhizal Fungi, as per the instructions on the label, which aids in the growth of roots.
